Charles Sazerac

Ingredients

  • Bourbon 2 oz.
  • Absinthe 0.15 oz.
  • Aged cognac 1 oz.
  • Angostura bitters 0.03 oz.
  • Peychaud's bitters 0.15 oz.
  • Still water 15 oz.
  • Cane sugar cubes 0.15 oz.
  • Orange zest 1  
  • Rocks ice 1  

Directions

  1. Place a cane sugar cube into a rocks glass
  2. Soak it with 1 dash of angostura bitters and muddle
  3. Pour 0.15 oz of absinthe, 2 oz of bourbon and 1 oz of aged cognac into the rocks glass
  4. Add 5 dashes of peychaud's bitters
  5. Place an ice cube into the glass and stir gently
  6. Add 0.5 oz of still water
  7. Garnish with orange zest
