Pumpkin Soup

Pumpkin soup is the best soup for fall (autumn). All dishes with pumpkin are very popular in the USA and Mexico. Perhaps because the pumpkin comes from the regions of North and South America. Pumpkin is a symbol of the wonderful holiday, like Halloween, which is celebrated on October 31, the eve of All Saints' Day in the USA. You can prepare this delicious pumpkin soup on Halloween!!!


  • pumpkin (cut in cubes) 2 lb.
  • onion (chopped) 1 pcs.
  • garlic (chopped) 3 cloves
  • water 1 liter
  • butter 1 oz.
  • cream 3 oz.
  • salt and black pepper, to taste
  • thyme, parsley (optional)
  • croutons and slices of fried bacon (optional)


  1. Cut a lid from the pumpkin. Carefully remove the seeds and pulp. Cut the pulp into cubes in one inch.
  2. Heat the butter in a saucepan, add finely chopped onion and garlic. Fry on the low heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Optionally, you can add thyme. It will give the soup a nice shade of taste.
  4. Add pumpkin cubes and fry, stirring occasionally, for 5-6 minutes.
  5. Pour 1 liter of water and bring to a boil over the low heat for about 15-20 minutes until the pumpkin is soft.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper. Mix in a blender.
  7. Optionally, pour soup into the pumpkin before serving. Add cream.
  8. Optionally, served with croutons and slices of fried bacon. Garnish with parsley.
