Pumpkin Millet Porridge

Millet porridge with pumpkin is one of the best breakfast that will love both adults and children with the small pieces of the sun on a plate. Millet is an ancient grain from the Far East, first cultivated nearly 10,000 years ago. It’s easy to digest and its a good source of fiber. Use whole grain millet in salads,  porridge, or add to muffins and bread. Prepared so simple!!!


  • medium pumpkin, peeled and chopped (or butternut squash) 450 gram 1 lb.
  • millet 1 cup
  • milk 1 cup
  • sugar, to taste 1 tbsp.
  • salt, to taste 12 tsp.
  • cinnamon powder (optional) 1 tsp.

Step 1
Peel and cut the pumpkin into small cubes (about 1 inch). Put into a saucepan and cover with water. Cook over medium heat for 5-10 minutes.

Thoroughly rinse millet and add to the saucepan, stirring occasionally.

Pour in milk and cook over medium heat about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add salt and sugar. When the porridge is ready, turn off the heat and cover the pan with a lid. Ready porridge should not be too thick because it will continue to prepare and absorb the milk. Leave the porridge covered with a lid for 5-10 minutes. Served hot, sprinkled with cinnamon. Enjoy your meal!!!
