Wild Rice Porridge

Wild rice (or another name black rice) is the leader among other cereals in protein, fiber, and essential amino acids. Useful substances of black rice enhance immunity, have antimicrobial action, nourish the heart muscle and lowers blood pressure. In the Chinese tradition, the black rice called "the rice of longevity". It was allowed to eat only for the nobility because ordinary people are usually valuable only in young and middle age... The traditional white rice and wild black rice has not a direct relationship. And the taste of black rice and its nutritional value are completely different. Black rice is much more useful than white. And the taste seems too much more interesting. In any case, it is sweet and exotic, with a slightly nutty flavor. Black rice is the most expensive cereal on the planet because it grows on a global scale in a relatively small area.


  • wild rice 12 cup
  • water 1 liter
  • salt and sugar, to taste
  • butter (optional)


  1. Wash rice, cover with cold boiled water and leave overnight.
  2. Rinse the soaked rice, add water again about 2 inches above the level of the rice and cook over medium heat for about 45-60 minutes after boiling.
  3. Season with salt and sugar.
  4. Add the butter to the hot cooked rice. Immediately bring to the table.
  5. Enjoy your meal!!!
