Layered Tuna Salad or Mimoza Salad

Layered tuna salad or Mimoza salad is a very popular salad in Eastern Europe. There are a lot of recipes for this salad. Optionally instead of rice add cheese and potato. 


  • rice 12 cup
  • hard-boiled eggs 4 pcs.
  • mayonnaise 3 tbsp.
  • onion (better green onion) 14 pcs.
  • carrot 1 pcs.
  • canned tuna (1 can) 6 oz.
  • salt, to taste
  • crackers, optionally

Step 1
Thoroughly rinse rice until water is clear. Drain. Put in a saucepan with double the amount of water. Add a little salt and stir once. Cook on the medium heat about 10-15 minutes with the lid until cooked.

Boil carrot for 10-15 minutes until cooked. Let it cool and then grate it.

Spread the boiled rice on the plate into a circle. Drain the tuna and mash it with a fork. Mix the tuna with mayonnaise. Spread this mixture on the rice.

Add the layers of the finely chopped onion and chopped white of the egg. Spread with mayonnaise.

Add the layer of grated carrot. Spread with mayonnaise.

Finish with a layer of crumbled egg yolks. Optionally, serve with crackers or сhips. Enjoy your meal!!!
