Cottage Cheese Pie or Belarusian Palenka

Belarusian Palenka is delicious cottage cheese pie!!!


  • flour 2 cups
  • baking soda 12 tsp.
  • sugar 1 12 cups
  • egg 1 pcs.
  • butter (100 gram) 3 12 oz.
  • sour cream 3 tbsp.
  • cottage cheese (400 gram) 14 oz.
  • vanilla sugar 12 cup
  • semolina, optional 12 cup
  • nuts, chocolate, jam (optional, for the top)


  1. Make the dough. Sift flour, add baking soda, sugar (1 cup). Whisk egg, cooled melted butter, sour cream and then add to the flour. Knead the dough and then roll out the dough into 0.5 inches (1 cm).
  2. Make the topping. Mix cottage cheese, sugar (0.5 cups) and vanilla sugar. Optionally add semolina. Mix well.
  3. Place into the baking form the rolled dough and add on the top mixture with cottage cheese. Place in preheated oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake about 30 minutes or until ready. Serve hot. Optionally, garnish with nuts, chocolate or jam. Enjoy your meal!!!
