Pour water into a saucepan. Add salt, pepper, bay leaf and other spices for seafood. Add shrimp when water comes to a boil. Bring to a boil over high heat and as soon as shrimp float remove them. Small Atlantic shrimp should be cooked for 1.5 - 2 minutes, and the large king shrimp or Tiger shrimp for 2.5 - 3 minutes. The main thing not to digest the shrimp or they will become tough.
