Irish Soda Bread

Irish soda bread is very popular bread without yeast. The main ingredients of Irish soda bread are flour, bread soda, salt, and buttermilk. 


  • all-purpose flour 4 cups
  • sugar 12 cup
  • baking powder 2 tsp.
  • baking soda 1 tsp.
  • salt 34 tsp.
  • raisins 3 cups
  • eggs, lightly beaten 2 pcs.
  • buttermilk 1 14 cups
  • sour cream 1 cup


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, raisins in a bowl. In another bowl, blend eggs, buttermilk, sour cream. Stir the liquid mixture into the first bowl. Knead dough until sticky in the bowl. Grease an iron skillet or a round baking pan. Place the dough in the prepared skillet or pan and pat down. Bake in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for 65 to 75 minutes. Let it cool. Enjoy your meal!!!
