Heat a large skillet over high heat. Drizzle the skillet with olive oil. When the oil is hot, sprinkle the mushrooms in a single layer. Do not stir! Let them sizzle until they have caramelized on the bottom a couple of minutes. If you toss them too soon, they will release their liquid and begin to steam.
Then add mayonnaise and chopped garlic. Season with salt and fresh ground pepper. Cook until the mushrooms are browned about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve immediately. Enjoy your meal!!!
