Rinse buckwheat thoroughly. On a dry skillet over medium heat, roast the buckwheat a couple of minutes until it's a golden brown color. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan and then add buckwheat. Season with salt, reduce the heat to low and cook for about 15-20 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Fry bacon and chopped onion in butter or oil for 3-5 minutes. Stir constantly. Add buckwheat. Cook about 5-7 minutes stirring occasionally. Serve hot. Enjoy your meal!!!
