Buckwheat Porridge with Bacon & Onions

Savory, flavorful and delicious buckwheat porridge with bacon and onion.


  • buckweat 2 cups
  • onion, chopped 1 pcs.
  • bacon or sausages, chopped 2 strips
  • butter or olive oil 1 tbsp.
  • salt and spices, to taste


  1. Rinse buckwheat thoroughly. On a dry skillet over medium heat, roast the buckwheat a couple of minutes until it's a golden brown color. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan and then add buckwheat. Season with salt, reduce the heat to low and cook for about 15-20 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  2. Fry bacon and chopped onion in butter or oil for 3-5 minutes. Stir constantly. Add buckwheat. Cook about 5-7 minutes stirring occasionally. Serve hot. Enjoy your meal!!!
