Hungarian Cucumber Salad

Hungarian cucumber salad served with paprika and black pepper.


  • cucumber, peeled & sliced 2 pcs.
  • salt, to taste 1 tsp.
  • sugar, to taste 1 pinch
  • white vinegar 14 cup
  • minced garlic or garlic powder, to taste 2 cloves
  • water 12 cup
  • sweet paprika, to taste
  • fresh ground black pepper, to taste


  1. Peel and slice cucumber very thin. Sprinkle with salt and let stand for 30-60 minutes with a plate and a 5-pound weight on top. Squeeze out the water on a paper towel. Combine the sugar, white vinegar, garlic powder or minced garlic, and water. Add the cucumbers and marinate for a few hours. Sprinkle with paprika and black pepper before serving. Enjoy your meal!!!
